SuperBowl Party Planning Tips

Want to host a SuperBowl party that will make you the envy of the neighborhood (even those pesky neighbors that won tickets to the actual game)?! With a little pre–party planning and creativity, you’ll be on your way to SuperBowl (party) fame.

  1. Invite, Invite, Invite If you want to host a killer SuperBowl party, well…you need guests! Be sure to get the word out to friends, family, and colleagues several weeks in advance that you’re hosting the party of the year, and that they’re invited. Give them a few hints as to what the festivities may include, like a big screen television, a cameo by your local pro–football hero, and so on. Just don’t plan the party and expect that guests will show up with a few days notice.
  2. Get up close and personal If you can’t be on the sidelines at the games, get the next best thing — a big screen television (or televisions) that will ensure everyone has the best seat in the house. Check your local rental centers a few weeks in advance to ensure you can reserve what you want for a reasonable price. Want another option? Check with a local bar/pub and see if you can rent out a room from you shin–dig.
  3. Cook–up great eats What’s a football fan love more than football? Great food and plenty of beer, or course! Pay tribute to Monday night football by cooking shrimp, burgers, hot dogs, chicken and ribs on the grill, cook up a feast native to your favorite SuperBowl team (i.e. — Cheesteaks for the Eagles), and be sure to have plenty of chips & dip, crackers, veggies, and other appetizers for your guest to munch on as they enjoy the game.
  4. Spice up Half–Time Have a friend in a band? Book them to play in person at you SuperBowl party! Want to get in on the action? How about a game of flag football in the backyard? Or, test your knowledge with a friendly game of trivia. To keep the entire game interesting, try creating a unique SuperBowl pool where you wager on everything from who will score the first touchdown to how many times you’ll see a commercial for Viagra during the game. Winner hosts next year’s party.
